Summary
What’s special about the area?
The Amari valley, located in central Crete, is an area of unspoiled nature, monuments and villages. Visitors can experience the authentic, diverse landscape shaped by the surrounding mountains of Psiloritis and Kedros, in an area with sites of archaeological interest, such as Byzantine churches dating back several centuries ago, and Minoan archaeological remains.
What will I do on this tour?
On this tour, we visit historic monuments, such as the Arkadi monastery, and we walk on paths in the stunning nature of the area, and among ancient olive trees, some of which are over 2,000 years old! We visit a couple of quiet, picturesque mountain villages, where we also sit for a cosy, relaxed lunch. Expect our table to be packed with authentic, hearty Cretan plates. At the end of the day, we head back home with Crete filling our hearts and minds.
